Curious about cup therapy? Your MOTI Physical Therapist may utilize this modality as part of your treatment.
Just want to come in for a Cup Therapy session? Dr. Ann Degrey is a Certified Clinician of Myofascial Decompression (Cup Therapy).
MFD stands for Myofascial Decompression, a technique that utilizes Eastern Medicine Tools (cups) and Western Medicine Research. MFD works to decompress adhesions and reduces the inhibition of fluids and nutrient exchange by applying negative, decompressive pressure to sites of increased tissue density. This releases tonic and tight muscles, increases the mobility of myofascial layers, releases trigger points, increased circulation and nutrient exchange, and mobilizes viscous ground substance.
The MFD Cups are placed by a Certified MFD Clinician in regions that may restrict mobility and cause pain at the site or referred away from the site. This is usually complimented with active movements to further improve mobility into the functional range. A Cup Therapy session at MOTI usually lasts about 30 minutes. The price for this service is $80.
