Sugarfoot Therapy is a conditioning program for Dancers based on the principals of functional biomechanics. The program is designed to help prevent common injuries caused by dance training and to encourage longevity in a dancer’s physically demanding career. Sugarfoot Therapy was created by MOTI Director Dr. Nick Cutri, DPT, and his wife Katie Schaar Cutri, who is a professional dancer & choreographer. We usually hold regular weekly classes at MOTI. Right now, while we all practice social distancing for COVID-19 containment, we are offering Live classes via ZOOM for $5.00.
This is a full-body workout appropriate for all dance/fitness levels, but specifically designed as cross training for advanced and professional-level dancers. This hour long conditioning class takes a preventative approach to dance injuries. We work on muscle activation, 3 dimensional movement, and creating stable mobility throughout the body. Use the scheduler below to sign up online. Register at least 60 minutes before the class starts. The morning of the scheduled class, we’ll send you an email with instructions for joining class via ZOOM. Class times are live for Pacific Standard Time zone.
Equipment is not required, however if you have a yoga mat and resistance bands (Theraband and/or MiniBands) they will be beneficial.
